The quote above is one that I had to read over and over again for it to REALLY sink in. Everyone always says the classic “new year, new me”, or insists they’re going to change something drastic about them come the new year. But even though it’s a great way to start the new year, do they really execute it? How many times have you personally said this and after a month into the new year, you’re already back to your old mundane ways.
I’m going into the new year with many takeaways and things to change, but only because I now have a firm grasp on what I want in life. “If you don’t know what truly motivates you, you really don’t know what will satisfy you”. How are you going to stay determined to change something in the new year if you don’t even know WHY you are doing it in the first place?
Advice: Go into 2017 not with a “new year, new me” perspective, but rather think about what you REALLY want in life and WHY. If it doesn’t motivate you then why do it? Don’t keep chasing something because you “think” you want it. Chase something meaningful, chase something that excites you, chase something that will benefit you in the future both personally and professionally. Work smarter, not harder. 2017 is your year, seize opportunity.
Happy New Year EntreWolves!
